This is a power line in the Rocinha favela in Brazil. All the wires are from people illegally accessing power. Any model of innovation that we build has to include this kind of innovation too, not just what’s going on at google.

It’s a new way of getting power. All those extra lines are cables that people have hooked up themselves to the main power lines. Someone had the idea, and it’s obviously spread!

Heheh. It reminds me of the 30s when people would borrow electricity from the glowing signs outside their windows..
